From 25 January to 3 February, the 61st edition of the Luxembourg Motor Festival took place in Luxembourg, attracting significantly more visitors than in previous years. 170 car dealerships across the country opened their doors, offering customers special buying conditions.

Philippe Mersch, chairman of the Federation of Automotive Distributors and Mobility (Fedamo), said that attendance was up 15 per cent compared to 2024 and that the same increase was seen in the number of contracts signed.

While in previous years many people came just to look, this time the organisers noted a high level of customer activity. The Autopolis dealership called the festival "a great edition", as customers came with a clear idea of what kind of car they wanted to buy.

"We see that more and more people are looking for a new car," notes Philippe Mersch. - The car festival is geared more towards private customers, and we will be able to assess the impact on the corporate sector at a later date."

Demand figures for different engine types remain varied. According to Philippe Mersch, it all depends on the range of the individual car manufacturer.

"Some brands offer almost no electrified models and have seen an increase in demand for petrol and diesel engines. At the same time, companies with a wide range of electric vehicles and hybrids have also shown excellent sales results."

Thus, on average, it is difficult to say which type of motors dominated the festival as consumer demand varies greatly depending on the brand and models available.

Car Festival 2025 was a success: there were more visitors than last year and interest in buying cars is growing. The electrification of the automotive market continues, but traditional engines remain in demand. Luxembourg car dealers are confident of positive trends and expect 2025 to be a successful year for the automotive industry.
