Luxembourg Art Prize calls for entries

The Luxembourg Art Prize is an international prize organised by the Pinacothèque, the private museum of the Grand Duchy. The competition is open to artists working in one of the following genres: painting, installation, drawing, photography, sculpture, craft, printmaking and mixed media.

This year's prize money is 35,000 euros, which will be divided among the three winners: 20,000 euros for the first place, 10,000 euros for the second and 5,000 euros for the third. All entrants will also receive a certificate, translated into 9 languages, confirming their merits and achievements.

Artists can register in 3 groups. However, the deadline for Group 1 has already passed and there are only 4 days left for Group 2, which closes on June 30. However, there is still time to apply for Group 3, which is open until September 30.

In October, the museum committee will review all applications and select eight finalists from each group. The final list will include 24 applicants. In November, the winners will be selected, honoured and awarded cash prizes to use as they wish.

The list of Laureates will be published on the 1st of December 2023.

The Luxembourg Art Prize was created in 2015. One of its main purposes is to launch and support the careers of artists at an international level. Last year's winners are Ilann Vogt (France), Sema Maskili (Turkey) and Evelyn Hellenschmidt (Germany & Spain).

There are almost no submission criteria. Artists of any age, amateur or professional, can take their chances. The Luxembourg Art Prize is open to artists of all nationalities and from all over the world.

In order to participate in the Luxembourg Art Prize, artists must create a Candidate Space on the Luxembourg Art Prize website and fill in the entry form online. This is one of the mandatory requirements for participation. However, artists may update and complete their profiles on the website as often as they wish. Just submit it before the deadline. Do not wait until the last day to complete your application.
