Luxembourg is one of the most read countries in Europe
In general, Europeans are still more committed to print publications than to their digital counterparts. By the end of 2023, only about half as many electronic versions will be purchased as print versions.
The Netherlands leads in the number of books, newspapers, and magazines purchased. Here, 23.5% of the population has recently purchased printed books. Next in line is Luxembourg with 22.2%. Not far behind is Ireland with 21.1%. But when it comes to electronic publications, Luxembourg lags behind its rivals from the previous example, as well as Denmark and Finland. The latter, by the way, are the only countries where the number of electronic media purchases has recently exceeded the number of print media purchases
As expected, the countries with the lowest figures are Romania and Bulgaria, as well as Latvia, Greece and Cyprus.
