Luxembourg seeks music for National Day
The Ministry of Culture has announced a competition for applications for the creation of a musical composition. It will be performed at the opening ceremony of the National Day on June 23, 2023 at the Luxembourg Philharmonic.
All composers in Luxembourg can participate, including those without citizenship. The piece must be in festive style and suitable for the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra with duration of 8-10 minutes.
Entries will be considered by a jury. It will include Mark Meyers (Director of the Luxembourg City Conservatory), Lydia Rilling (philharmonic staff) and Ivan Boumans (composer). The decision of the jury is not subject to appeal, and candidates will be notified by e-mail. The winner will receive 8500 euros to fully create the composition.
