In the heart of Luxembourg, at Boulevard FD Roosevelt, 16, hides a green oasis that is normally closed to the public. But on Thursday 5 June, as part of the Luxembourg Urban Garden (LUGA) programme, British Ambassador Joanne Olivier will open the gates of her official residence - for one day only.
Guests will be offered a unique opportunity to stroll through a picturesque garden with a panoramic view of the Pétrusse Valley, where several installations of the LUGA exhibition are located. Admission is free of charge, but mandatory registration via an online form is required and each guest must register individually.
The main theme of the event will be sustainable development and biodiversity, and schoolchildren from St George's International School will play guides. Primary and secondary school pupils will not only lead guided tours, talking about the ecological features of the garden, but will also present their own environmental projects.
According to the embassy, the day promises to be a combination of nature, education and a new perspective on sustainability - through the eyes of the younger generation. The Ambassador's garden will be just one of the many sites of the LUGA urban exhibition, which runs from 7 May to 18 October 2025, covering the whole of Luxembourg with its green initiatives and innovations in urban space.
