The fifth annual Schoulfoire education fair will take place at the Luxexpo The Box exhibition centre in Kirchberg from 19 to 22 April. Organised by the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth, the event will be the largest platform for school and career guidance in the Grand Duchy. The fair covers an area of over 17,000 m² and is aimed at primary and secondary school pupils, their parents, and education professionals.
The Schoulfoire 2026 programme is based on six key pillars, including a presentation of the school system, the participation of 45 secondary schools as part of the ‘Lycée Village’, and the work of nine themed ‘learning universes’. These universes enable young people to gain practical experience in various sectors, ranging from construction and IT to healthcare and gastronomy.
The highlight of this year will be LuxSkills – the national final of the vocational skills competition, which takes place every two years. The best apprentices aged 25 and under will compete in 25 different disciplines, carrying out complex technical projects over a 22-hour period in front of a live audience. The winners will earn the right to represent Luxembourg at the EuroSkills 2027 European Championships in Düsseldorf.
For those already looking for a specific apprenticeship, Léierplazendag – an apprenticeship recruitment day – will take place on 21 April. The event enables companies and prospective apprentices to meet for direct matching, with the support of the professional chambers and the employment agency ADEM.
Admission to the exhibition is free, and no prior registration is required to take part in the workshops. The Restopolis catering service will be operating on site. The full programme and floor plan are available on the official website at www.schoulfoire.lu.
