The 2025 summer session has once again confirmed the high performance of vocational education in Luxembourg. Of the 2,174 students admitted to the final project (PIF), 1,904 successfully completed their studies - that is 88%, higher than the 2023 result (86%) and slightly lower than the 2022 record (87.05%).
Graduates of the DAP (Diploma of Apprenticeship Programme) showed a consistent success rate of 86%, despite it being the largest of the three programmes: 1,117 students passed the exam out of 1,299 admitted. For the CCP (Certificate of Professional Qualification) programme, the success rate was 87% and for the DT (Diploma of Technician) programme an impressive 91%, showing significant progress from last year (83.75%).
The successful debut of two new specialities deserves special attention: 240 students became the first holders of the DAP in "socio-educational agent" and 73 students became the first holders of the CCP in "daily living support assistant". Both programmes demonstrated a success rate above 85%, indicating the demand and quality of training.
The system in Luxembourg offers three levels: CCP and DAP are three-year programmes, and DT is a four-year programme. Training is conducted both in a full-time format in lycées with internships and in dual mode (training and internships in companies). Access to the PIF project is granted only to students who have successfully passed at least 90 per cent of compulsory modules and all fundamental disciplines.
The system has shown a steady level of results over three years. Particularly noteworthy is the improvement in the quality of training in the DT programme, where the success rate increased by almost 8% over the year. There is also a trend towards strengthening dual education and expanding language options.
These results not only reflect the high standards of education in the Grand Duchy, but also indicate a growing focus on the social and teaching professions in the context of an ageing population and the need for sustainable social support.
