Walnut Festival starts this weekend
Walnut Festival starts this weekend
On the second Sunday in October, Vianden hosts the walnut fair, or walnut festival, also known as Nëssmoort. The streets of the medieval town will be filled with the aromas of nut-centered dishes and the sounds of folk music.
All visitors will have the opportunity to try a variety of products from local producers, with walnut as the main component. Nut brandy, liquor, wine, as well as nut bread, pralines, nutcakes, pâté and much more will be available for tasting. Along with pastries, meat and alcoholic products, walnut tincture is also a favorite among regulars.
You can get to the fair by bus or by car, detailed instructions are published on the festival’s website.
