Shards in dessert: Luxembourg recalls ice cream due to glass

L'Essentiel
The Luxembourg authorities have issued an urgent warning: glass fragments have been found in the two-portion Nocciola & Triple chocolate ice cream sold in Aldi. The products in question are Italian-made products under the Mucci brand, sold between 10 March and 22 May 2025. The discovery was confirmed by the country's Veterinary and Food Administration.
Customers who purchased this product are strongly advised not to consume it and to return it to the shop. Although there are no official reports of casualties, the presence of glass in foodstuffs poses a serious health hazard.
This is not the first time that major retail chains have been forced to recall products for a similar reason. Such incidents raise the important issue of quality control of supplied goods, especially in the mass consumption segment.
Aldi has not yet commented on the situation. Meanwhile, the incident became a cause for discussion in social networks, where users, with a share of irony, commented on the "bonus" to the purchase.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, supervisory authorities will continue to check the entire batch of products as well as its logistical path. Mucci ice cream is one of the chain's popular products, and the recall may affect consumer confidence.
