On 11 April 2025, Luxembourg Customs detained a man carrying a "mini-arsenal" of illegal substances during a routine check of passengers on a train with the help of a canine service dog. The intuitive reaction of a service dog named Chase led customs officers to the suspicious passenger. The attempt to hide the drugs was not successful - they found them in his belongings:

  • about 40 grammes of cocaine,
  • 11 ecstasy tablets,
  • as well as small amounts of hashish and marijuana.

In addition to drugs, two mobile phones allegedly used in illegal activities were seized from the man.

The investigation soon established that the man was not only transporting drugs, but was also in the Schengen area illegally. According to the French authorities, he was subject to an official ban on entry into the Schengen area, a measure that is usually applied when there is a criminal record or a threat to public security.

The Luxembourg prosecutor's office ordered his immediate arrest, after which the man was brought before an investigating judge, who ordered his detention.
