Man with 71 cigarettes detained in Luxembourg

A petrol station attendant suspected of regularly stealing blocks of cigarettes has been arrested in Martelange. According to the police, the thefts occurred repeatedly and the offences were committed at a shop along the N4.
On Wednesday evening, police received a report of a suspicious person after a theft at a local petrol station. Law enforcers conducted a body search and a search of the suspect's car on the order of the prosecutor's office. As a result, 71 cartons of cigarettes were found and seized.
The suspect was detained and taken before an investigating judge for further proceedings. The investigation is continuing to establish all the circumstances of the case and possible involvement in other similar offences.
