Stores open on Sunday in Luxembourg in 2025

It has happened to all of us, we need to buy something on Sunday, but everything is closed. If this is your case now do not despair, although everything seems closed some places are still open, and here we will mention some of them.

The fact that many stores are closed on Sundays is not because businesses do not want to open on that day but because they cannot. In Luxembourg, all retail stores are subject to mandatory closing hours during which no customers are allowed to enter and no direct sales are allowed.

Are there any stores open on Sundays and public holidays in Luxembourg?

When you go out on a Sunday in Luxembourg and see everything closed you immediately ask yourself: are there stores open on Sundays in Luxembourg? Well, yes there are and although there are not many here, we will help you find them, but first, we will look at the normal opening hours.

In Luxembourg, stores are generally open from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 to 18:00, and some stores are open until 19:00 at the latest. Some stores are, however, closed on Monday mornings. Supermarkets and stores in shopping centers have more flexible opening hours and are generally open from 8:00 to 20:00.

If stores have these hours, it is because the opening and closing hours of stores are regulated. Stores are not allowed to open on Sundays or public holidays with some exceptions depending on the date or activity of the store:
