Eurofoil SA, a company specialising in the production of aluminium foil for the industrial sector, and the employee associations OGBL and LCGB have concluded a new three-year collective agreement. The signing took place on 26 May 2025, almost two years after the start of negotiations, which began in September 2023 and included a formal settlement phase before the National Office for Harmonisation (ONC).

The document covers the period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027 and affects approximately 230 employees at the Dudelange site. The agreement focuses on improving working conditions, recognising the contribution of employees and the stability of the social package.

One of the key elements was the introduction of clear and objective criteria for promotion by groups: from the assessment of knowledge and experience to the opinion of the immediate manager and the team. This should reduce subjectivity and increase the transparency of career development.

Each employee will now receive an annual bonus of €500 if the company retains the current tiered progression system. In addition, those who work as a trainer or in several positions on their own initiative will be able to expect an additional hourly bonus of €1,107.

From July 2025, a new adjustment scheme is being introduced for newly recruited employees, where the balance between entitlements such as 13th pay and holiday pay will be redesigned.

There is also a profit-sharing mechanism: for every 700,000 euros of net profit above 3.7 million euros, employees will receive 100 euros net. This system links the company's results to the employees' motivation and direct material interest.

The agreement preserves and extends social bonuses: Christmas lunches, children's gifts (a cheque for €50 for children under 12), production tours, and the possibility to share holiday days and count recalled days as overtime.

Special emphasis is placed on incentivising regular attendance at work - an attendance bonus is being introduced, the amount of which will depend on a reduction in the overall sickness rate.

There are also seniority bonuses of up to €1,250 depending on length of service and the possibility of full or partial early retirement for employees working night or shift work.

The collective text of the agreement will be finalised by the end of June, after editorial revision. OGBL and LCGB representatives emphasise that the agreements reached are the result of a long but constructive struggle for decent working conditions and respect for the company's employees.
