On 1 January 2025, a new collective labour convention will come into force at Tontarelli Lux S.A., a manufacturer of plastic products with a factory in Luxembourg, signed by the company's management and the OGBL union, which is the sole representative of the employees. The agreement covers 250 employees and runs for three years until the end of 2027.
The convention includes a variety of material improvements:
- Grid wage increases of 2.5 per cent, above current eurozone inflation;
- Improved calculation of 13th salary, which will provide employees with greater transparency and benefit when receiving the bonus;
- Increased night work allowances to take into account the actual shift workload;
- Increase in the cost of food stamps, which will indirectly increase purchasing power;
- And most importantly, the introduction of a new seniority bonus, which will strengthen motivation and attachment to the company.
In this way, Tontarelli Lux continues its course of strengthening its social policy, showing that the stability and recognition of employees' work remain at the centre of attention.
An important aspect of the agreement is the quality of the negotiation process. OGBL and the staff delegation stressed that the dialogue with the company management took place in a constructive and respectful atmosphere. This is a rare but valuable example of how social partnership can bring concrete and tangible benefits without strikes and tension.
