Construction work on the railway line 162 will commence from August 5 to August 29. Schedule changes will affect the Brussels-Luxembourg route. On some days the train traffic will be stopped completely.
From August 5 to 12, the section between Libramont and Arlon stations will be closed. From August 12 to 20, workers will temporarily stop train traffic at the Libramont-Sterpenich and Libramont-Athus sections.
Buses will run between these stations during the renovation. Passengers will be able to catch a ride using the SNCB general transport ticket.
Construction work is carried out primarily to make the Brussels-Luxembourg route faster. It is planned that by 2030 it will be possible to get from one European capital to another in just 2 hours and 5 minutes. To do this, it is necessary to replace the electrical infrastructure on a section of the railway 66 kilometers long.
