Free tour of Luxembourg»s World Heritage to be held in September

On September 8, Luxembourg will celebrate the Organization of World Heritage Cities’ 29th anniversary. Luxembourg’s own fortifications and old city were placed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List and became part of the Society in December 1994. In honor of this, a free tour of the city will be held.

Similar tours are organized on September 8 in other World Heritage cities. This tradition began with the founding of the Society. In Luxembourg, the tour runs along the so-called UNESCO trail.

First, the participants will walk along the Pétrusse river valley along the city fortifications. Then they’ll get to the Corniche, an observation deck with one of the most mesmerizing views in Europe. And after that the excursion group will visit the ramparts and go through them into the old city.

The tour will be held for three language groups: Luxembourgish at 11:00, English at 14:00, French at 15:00. Admission is free, but places are limited. They can be booked online.

Tour participants will receive a free book of classic recipes from 22 World Heritage cities, including Luxembourg.
