French storm to hit Luxembourg

Hurricane Ciaran is expected to hit the northwestern part of France late today, November 1. Several communes have already declared a heightened risk level due to wind and flooding. Winds are expected to reach speeds of 170-180 km/h.

In Luxembourg, the storm will arrive on Thursday, after having crossed the part of France that separates the Grand Duchy from the Atlantic coast. The storm will be much weaker here, but it will retain its destructive power.

All of Thursday will be extremely windy with gusts up to 70-80 km/h. This is confirmed by MeteoLux forecasts. Specialists of the center also believe that the yellow danger level should be immediately declared in the country.
