On 18 February, Grand Duchess Stéphanie celebrates her 42nd birthday, just a few months after taking up her current position at court. She was born in 1984 in Renaix, Belgium, to the Count and Countess de Lannoy, and is the youngest of eight children.

This birthday takes place in a special context: on 3 October 2025, her husband Guillaume officially ascended the throne after his father's abdication, and Stephanie received the title of Grand Duchess of Luxembourg. Thus, the current celebration is the first in her new status.

Stephanie and Guillaume were married on 20 October 2012 at Notre Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg. The couple have two sons: Prince Charles Jean Philippe Joseph Marie Guillaume, born on 10 May 2020, and Prince François Henri Luis Marie Guillaume, born on 27 March 2023. The eldest son is second in line to the throne.

In recent years, Stefania has gradually increased her public presence by participating in official events and patronising social and cultural initiatives. After the Trounwiessel ceremony in October 2025, which marked the change of monarch, her role became more visible and institutionally significant.
