On Thursday, Luxembourg was once again immersed in an atmosphere of vintage glamour as the ACL Classic Tour, the annual classic car race, took to the roads for the 23rd time, bringing together collectors and vintage enthusiasts. This year the organisers counted 152 participants, including five cars produced before the Second World War. The convoy started from Bertrange and covered almost 232 kilometres, passing through "bucolic landscapes" and little-known parts of the country, as the Automobile Club of Luxembourg (ACL) emphasises.
A 1934 Alvis Speed - the oldest car among the participants - attracted special attention of the spectators. The Alvis brand, the British symbol of automotive elegance of the interwar period, became a real symbol of the trip this year.
The route included not only beautiful views but also rare stops. In particular, the participants paused in Wemperhardt to view the world's largest private collection of Steyr tractors - Austrian machinery with a military and agricultural history. This emphasises the point: the ACL Classic Tour appreciates not only the luxury bodies but also the industrial aesthetics of the past.
The ACL Classic Tour remains one of the most spectacular and soulful automotive events of the year in Luxembourg, where the drivers behind the wheel are not just drivers, but keepers of automotive memory.
