Luxembourg and Malta will top the list of countries with the highest population growth

Luxembourg will experience double-digit population growth until 2032. It is expected to grow by 10.9% over these nine years. This is the second highest rate: only Malta's 11.7% is higher. Luxembourg is also expected to have the highest share of the population aged 15-74 in 2032, at 76.9%, slightly lower than the current 77.4%.
The impressive growth is also expected in Sweden, Ireland, and Cyprus. Their populations will increase by 6.2%, 8.6% and 6.8% respectively. On the other hand, 12 other countries risk losing populations. Croatia leads the negative assessment with a forecast of -13%.
The overall picture for the European Union is not the most optimistic either. The alliance is likely to end the decade with a population decline of -0.03%.
