Luxembourg has become Europe's leader in internet usage

The Grand Duchy was previously quite deeply immersed in the web if you can call it that. In 2019, the year before the pandemic, 96% of its inhabitants had used the Internet at least once in their lives. By 2023, that figure had risen to 99%. By comparison, the European average was 91%.
Not surprisingly, the largest percentage of people who have never used the Internet will be older people between the ages of 65 and 74. It is sometimes difficult for them to master new technologies, and they may not have as much need for information. Nevertheless, time and the inevitability of generational change mean that in 4 years the number of older people who have never used the Internet has fallen from 13% to just 2%.
It is also interesting to note that as the level of education increases, both the frequency of Internet use and the number of network services used increase. This also correlates with the age of the user, which is quite logical and natural. People with lower levels of education often have fewer financial opportunities, and older people prefer offline shops and services.
Be that as it may, we are gradually approaching the point where the number of Internet users will reach its maximum. Already, 100% of respondents aged 16-34 have used the Web at least once, which means that in the future there will be no older people who do not understand how to work with search engines, how to distinguish a safe site, and how to use information provided by thousands of different sources.
