Luxembourg is ahead of the EU in terms of gas savings

The norms set by the European Union to reduce the consumption of natural gas are successfully implemented by Luxembourg. The Department of Energy has published a fresh report with the recent months’ results.

At the first stage of the project, monthly gas consumption is expected to be reduced by 15% per month. It will last until March 31, 2023. It is worth saying that the rather mild start of winter and warm autumn contributed to this. Natural gas consumption in the Grand Duchy was lessened by:

• 37% in August;
• 26% in September;
• 36% in October.

Such indicators are better on average than those of the rest of the European Union.
