The results of the new Michelin Guide 2025 for Belgium and Luxembourg were announced in Antwerp on Monday - and the event was a real triumph for Luxembourg gastronomy. The main sensation was the second star for the Léa Linster restaurant in Friesange, where Louis Linster has continued the work of his legendary mother.

"It's a dream come true," Louis Linster confessed as he stood on stage wearing his new two-star jacket. His mother, Léa Linster, who herself received the first star for the restaurant back in 1987, did not hide her emotions: "This is the most beautiful birthday present," she said, celebrating her 70th birthday on the eve of the ceremony.

Michelin praised the restaurant's "modern and refined cuisine" and the "exceptional sauces" that give the dishes a special depth.

In addition to Léa Linster, the first star was awarded to:

  • Fields by René Mathieu in Findel is a continuation of the chef famous for his plant-based cuisine,
  • Archibald in Lauterbourne is the new establishment of young chef Archibald De Prince,
  • Grünewald Chef's Table in Luxembourg under the direction of Clovis Degrave.

Of particular note was René Mathieu, who not only made a quick return to stardom after leaving La Distillerie, but also regained a Green Star for his commitment to sustainable gastronomy.

According to Gwendal Poullennec, director of the Michelin Guide, the new selection of 790 restaurants, 151 of which are starred, reflects a "vibrant and constantly evolving gastronomic scene".
