Luxembourg's carsharing is growing — without bringing in a profit

Demand for carsharing is growing exponentially. One of the operators, Flex, notes that in 2018 the number of requests reached just 2792, and in 2022 it exceeded 22 000. Moreover, the number of users grew even during the pandemic.

This is where good logistics comes into play. The company has representative offices not only in the capital, but also in other municipalities, and charging stations for electric vehicles are located near public transport stops. In addition, the client pays only for time and mileage.

However, a good logistics model does not bring in as much money as we would like. Right now, Flex has a deficit of about 1 million euros. The company is actively reforming the monetization model and will offer municipalities a new partnership program.
