At this year's prestigious French-Luxembourg National Crémant Competition in Beaune, wines from Luxembourg once again took centre stage. In the sparkling wine category, the jury recognised the high elegance, freshness and balance of Luxembourg cremains - the result was 11 gold and 6 silver medals.
The wines competed in several categories: Blanc Brut, Rosé Brut, Cuvée Millésimée and Cuvées Spéciales. The Crémants from the banks of the Moselle proved that they can successfully compete with the recognised regions of France, while remaining true to their style - refined, mineral, gastronomic.
During the gala dinner, the Luxembourg Minister of Agriculture, Martine Hansen, received a symbolic bottle of crémant as a sign that the next competition in 2026 will be held in Luxembourg. The Winegrowers' Solidarity Foundation will organise the event.
The 35th anniversary ceremony is expected to be an important winemaking event not only for the country, but also for the whole of Europe: in April 2026, representatives of all Crémant-producing regions will come to the Moselle. And it will be a double cause for celebration - it is also in 2026 that Crémant de Luxembourg will celebrate its 35th anniversary.
The programme includes tastings, master classes, wine walks and, of course, the collective opening of bottles to applause. Luxembourg is preparing for an event that will bring together winemakers, gourmets and industry professionals.
