Online platforms and search engines will be required to publish user's activity data

Digital Services Act proposed this change on November 2022. Now since February 17, all service platforms and search engines will be required to collect and provide availability of information on views and visits.

This data will help determine the possible reach and target audiences of resources. This is especially important in case of social networks, which are now becoming marketplaces rather than a communication method and information sharing tools.

There is an exception however. Small and micro enterprises with less than 50 employees and an annual turnover of less than 10 million euros, will it be obliged to collect data. The rest of the marketplaces will have to display information in publicly accessible sections of their websites.
