Princess Alexandra's wedding took place in Luxembourg

The announced wedding of Princess Alexandra and Nicolas Bagory of Luxembourg took place this Saturday, April 22, in the capital of the Grand Duchy at Place Guillaume II. A civil ceremony was organized in the presence of the closest people and several important Luxembourg politicians were invited too.

One of the five children (and the only daughter) of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Theresa, Princess Alexandra got married. The princess is currently seventh in the line of succession after her older brother heir Grand Duke Guillaume, his two-year-old son Prince Charles and newborn son Prince François, and his brother Prince Felix and his children, Princess Amalia and Prince Liam.

Alexandra is followed in the heritage line by her younger brother, Prince Sebastian. The princess is an active member of the royal family and has a background as a professional linguist: she is fluent in Luxembourg, French, English, Spanish, German and Italian.

Her now husband is Nicolas Bagory, a Parisian businessman and graduate of the Sorbonne. Nicolas grew up in Brittany, he is French. Passionate about political science, he is currently working in the field of culture and social institutions.

The wedding took place at three o'clock in the Town Hall, in the presence of the Grand Duke and Duchess, several prominent politicians and family members: pictures show the attendance of Prince Louis, Prince Sébastien, Princess Claire, Prince Felix, the Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and the hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie. Residents of Luxembourg and ordinary people were also invited to the main square to greet the two newlyweds before and after the ceremony.

The engagement of the princess and her betrothed was announced back in November 2022. Modest by royal standards, the wedding was planned only a month ago.

This is not the only joyous occasion in the life of the Grand Duchy's most important family — at the end of last month, on March 27, the heir Grand Duke Guillaume and his wife, the heir Grand Duchess Stephanie, had a son. The boy was named François Henri Louis Marie Guillaume.
