Road repairs on France-Luxembourg border to last from August to December
On August 22, large-scale road repairs will begin in Esch-sur-Alzette. Most of all, they will affect the rue de Mondercange. The work will last four months and one day — the road will reopen on December 23.
Renovation work will also take place on the section of rue de Luxembourg between rue Léon-Metz and rue Mathias-Koener. But traffic will be blocked only in the direction of the city center. This renovation will be completed early. The road will be fully accessible on September 14.
Until September 14, road repairs will also take place at the intersection of avenue de la Gare and rue du Moulin. And from 8:30 to 17:00 daily, for the convenience of repair work, rue Boltgen will also be blocked.
In order to renew the pipelines in city buildings, some streets of Esch-sur-Alzette will also be temporarily closed to traffic. The section of the road between houses 49 and 67 will be blocked on cité Louis-Blum. On rue Renaudin, the area between house 13 and the football field will not be accessible to cars. Pipe repairs will last from August 29 to October 28.
For two days (August 31-September 1), workers will lay asphalt at the intersection of rue Zénon-Bernard and rue Pierre-Claude.
Road repairs in Dudelange
Earthworks will take place in Dudelange from August 22 to September 14 at the intersection of avenue G.-D.-Charlotte and route de Burange. Traffic on the Route de Burange will be one-way for the time being, only available towards rue Jean-Simon.
Rue de l’Étang will also undergo similar works. The street will be completely closed from the early morning of August 29 until the evening of September 30 on the section between avenue G.-D.-Charlotte and rue Jean-Wolter.
Road repairs and extensive renovation will affect rue du Commerce, rue de la Liberation and route de Zoufftgen from August 29 to December 23. The section of the route de Zoufftgen between rue du Commerce and rue Mathias-Cungs will be completely closed. On rue du Commerce itself, the section between rue de la Liberation and route de Zoufftgen will close. The rue de la Liberation section between houses 35 and 57 will also be closed.
During the works on rue Antoine-Zinnen two-way traffic will be allowed. Bypass roads will be organized for all road sections under repair.
