There is no shortage of vaccines in Luxembourg
With the arrival of cold weather, respiratory infections are back again. In response to an enquiry from Socialist MPs Paulette Lenert and Mars di Bartolomeo, Minister Martine Deprez said that on 21 October, the ministry launched a campaign entitled "Respiratory infections are not fashionable at all", urging the public to remember the long-established protection measures. People over 65 years of age and those with co-morbidities are advised to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and influenza.
For the upcoming 2024/2025 winter season, 145,290 doses of COVID-19 vaccine are planned, which should be sufficient, given that vaccination is recommended only for vulnerable groups. 88,910 doses of influenza vaccine have also been ordered, which is the same as last year.
The Minister assured that there are no problems with the availability of vaccines and additional ordering is possible in case of need.
