On 17 July 2025, a bilateral meeting was held in Luxembourg between Luxembourg's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and Foreign Trade Affairs Xavier Bettel and his Armenian counterpart, Mher Grigoryan. The latter's visit emphasised the two countries' desire to strengthen their already strong ties, as well as to discuss a wide range of international and regional issues.

One of the key items on the agenda was the situation in the South Caucasus. Bettel clearly expressed Luxembourg's position: the country firmly supports the peaceful and diplomatic settlement of all disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan, based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both sides. This statement was made against the backdrop of Armenia's ongoing diplomatic efforts to normalise relations with its neighbours.

Special attention was paid to Armenia's relations with the European Union. Luxembourg supports Yerevan's European aspirations, including through participation in the EU civilian observation mission in Armenia (EUMA). At present, a Luxembourg police officer is working in this mission, which confirms the practical involvement of the Grand Duchy in the processes of ensuring stability in the region.

The sides also stressed that the Armenian-Luxembourg relations are developing in the spirit of mutual respect and open dialogue, which creates a solid basis for further cooperation in the spheres of security, trade, as well as European integration.
