Luxembourg's foreign minister received an order

Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, was awarded the Order of the Star of Romania of the Grand Officer's Degree. The award was presented for his longstanding contribution to strengthening ties between Luxembourg and Romania. The ceremony was led by Romanian Foreign Minister Luminica Odobescu.
The Romanian side particularly recognised Bettel's efforts in supporting Romania's accession to the Schengen area. During his speech, Bettel emphasised the close relations between the two countries, based on common values such as human rights and democratic principles.
The Minister also recalled the difficult situation in Eastern Europe. In this context, Luxembourg is supporting Romania, including through the participation of its soldiers in the NATO multinational battalion in Cincu.
The award was a confirmation of the strong diplomatic and military ties between Luxembourg and Romania, strengthening them against the background of global challenges and European solidarity.
