CFL will be testing trains at night
The new Coradia Stream High Performance railcars will be tested for two months. Previously, CFL has tested railcars, but only 3 cars were tested. Now the capacity will be increased to 6 and 9 cars.
According to calculations, the upgraded trains will be able to carry more than 1000 passengers at a time, which will greatly simplify the work of the railway network and make traveling more comfortable. However, before the new cars are put into service, it is necessary to make sure that there will be no problems.
Therefore, from April 29 to July 1, some night flights will be cancelled in the north of Luxembourg. Directions such asLuxembourg-Diekirch, Kautenbach-Wiltz and Luxembourg-Troisvierges will be affected. Not all trains will be canceled, but only some of them on certain nights. It is not yet known which trains will be affected.
The CFL promises that the short trains will appear on the country's railways this summer. Longer 6- or 9-car versions will appear in the first half of 2025. The gradual renewal of the fleet and replacement of physically and morally obsolete trains will significantly improve passenger comfort. For example, Wi-Fi has already been announced for the new trains.
