The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Wine, Martine Hansen, held a meeting with representatives of key food aid organisations. Participants included Stëmm vun der Strooss, Hëllef um Terrain (HUT), Cent Buttek, Croix-Rouge, Spëndchen asbl and Banque Alimentaire Luxembourg asbl.

These structures play a dual role: fighting food waste and supporting people in difficult situations. The Minister expressed her gratitude for their work and emphasised that their activities are fully in line with the national #antigaspi campaign to reduce food waste.

The meeting discussed specific support measures that the ministry can offer to non-profit organisations involved in food aid distribution. Among the suggestions were optimising logistics, improving food storage and closer cooperation with supermarkets and farmers.

The Minister expressed her willingness to expand the partnership between the state and public actors to improve access to food aid and reduce food waste in Luxembourg.
