Psychotherapy now part of medical insurance — hour-long session reimbursed with 144 euros

The Government Council of Luxembourg has decided to include psychotherapy into the national health insurance. Negotiations about this have been going on for the past 5 years, but the State Health Fund (CNS) and the Federation of Associations of Psychotherapists of Luxembourg (Fapsylux) could not agree on the specific amount of compensation.

Now this amount is finally set. A therapy session of 50-60 minutes will be reimbursed with 144 euros. This should help insurance holders to better care about not only their physical, but also their mental health.
