Construction of the NEOS space campus has begun in Kockelscheuer

On Monday, 26 October, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Minister for the Economy Lex Delles, Finance Minister Gilles Roth and Tom Jungen, Mayor of Roeser, officially launched the construction of the space campus in Kockelscheuer. The project has been named the NEOS space campus and is scheduled to open at the end of 2027.
The campus’s main building, Nova, will cover around 10,000 m² across five floors. It will house the future headquarters of the Luxembourg Space Agency, an incubator and start-up spaces managed by Technoport, offices for small and medium-sized enterprises in the space sector, a conference hall and co-working spaces.
A national test centre is to be built nearby: over 7,000 m² dedicated to climatic and other tests on satellites and space equipment in accordance with international standards. Government investment in this centre alone is estimated at over 195 million euros, of which around 55 million is earmarked for testing equipment.
SES has confirmed its participation in the project: it will open a satellite manufacturing facility covering more than 11,000 m² and around 5,000 m² of office space on the campus.
