Enovos, the largest electricity supplier in Luxembourg, will reduce prices for its customers from the beginning of 2026. This will be good news after several years of instability in the energy market. As explained by Enovos, the decision was prompted by signs of stabilising wholesale electricity prices and the desire to encourage a shift to sustainable energy sources.

According to a notice sent to customers on Tuesday, the "Naturstroum Home Mono" tariff will drop to €0.13213 per kilowatt hour (excluding VAT), down from €0.15730 today. This is a noticeable reduction of more than 2.5 cents per kWh.

Similarly, the "Naturstroum Home Double" tariff will have a daytime rate of EUR 0.13473 per kWh and a nighttime rate of EUR 0.12243 per kWh. The prices are also quoted without value added tax.

While the share of green energy in Luxembourg continues to grow, electricity prices have remained a sensitive topic in recent years, especially after the surge in energy prices in 2022-2023. Enovos' decision could be an indicator of a long-awaited market levelling out, as well as a sign that sustainable technologies are getting closer to the consumer - not only in terms of ecology, but also economics.
