Following a brief period of stabilisation in the Luxembourg fuel market, the price of diesel and fuel oil is set to rise again from Thursday. The price increase will be more than three cents per litre.
This is the second price rise for diesel in a week: on Saturday, the price rose by 1.8 cents, and from midnight on Wednesday it rose by a further 3.2 cents. As a result, from Thursday morning, motorists will be paying 1.642 euros per litre for diesel at petrol stations.
A similar trend can be seen in the fuel oil (boiler fuel) market. Its price is set to rise by 3.7 cents, reaching 1.130 euros per litre.
It should be noted that the prices quoted are maximum retail prices, inclusive of value added tax (VAT). The cost of fuel oil is calculated on the basis of a minimum supply volume of 1,500 litres.
