The electric vehicle market in Europe has grown

In 2025, the number of new electric vehicles powered exclusively by batteries increased by 30 per cent. This trend in the transport market was accompanied by changes in the logistics sector, where the total volume of freight transport grew by 0.9% during the same year. At the same time, freight transport via inland waterways showed a decline in 2025.

Statistics for this period reveal significant changes in transport safety and overall passenger numbers. In particular, the road traffic fatality rate within the European Union fell by 2.2 per cent by the end of 2024. At the same time, the population’s transport activity remains extremely high: in 2024, passengers made a total of 6.7 billion journeys.
