The Grouft and Stafelter tunnels will be closed at night

From Monday, 31 March until Friday, 9 May 2025, two important tunnels on the A7 motorway - Grouft and Stafelter - will be closed at night between 20:00 and 5:00. The work is being carried out as part of the replacement of the fire suppression system, an important safety element of the road infrastructure.
The restrictions are in place on weekday nights only, with traffic directions to be closed alternately - week by week.
The following diversions routes await drivers:
- For those travelling on the A7 towards Ettelbruck, the diversions starts from the Waldhof junction via the N11 and N7 to the Lorentzweiler junction.
- In the direction of Luxembourg, traffic is diverted already at the Lorenzweiler interchange, via the N7 and N11 before returning to the motorway via Waldhof.

Drivers are advised to pay close attention to road signs and plan routes taking into account the restrictions. Despite the night-time nature of the works, delays are possible on key sections.
