TICE will move to a new model by 2027

The municipal councils of the nine southern communes that make up the TICE transport alliance have approved the transformation of this structure into a state-municipal association by 2027. This decision paves the way for the creation of a new organisational model capable of effectively addressing the region's transport challenges within the framework of the National Mobility Plan 2040.
The future syndicate will be jointly managed by the state and the communes. The financing is unevenly distributed: over the next ten years, Luxembourg will bear more than 700 million euros of the costs, while all the communes will contribute no more than 150 million. In this way, the state guarantees a large-scale modernisation of the infrastructure without placing an excessive burden on local budgets.
The project is being promoted in close dialogue with the Ministry of Mobility under the leadership of Yuriko Backes and with the participation of Finance Minister Gilles Roth. The legislative procedure could be launched as early as 2026 - after formal approval by local councils.
