Tram services in Luxembourg will be suspended from 22 July to 15 August

Major construction work on Luxembourg’s transport network will result in the temporary splitting of the main tram route in the Kirchberg business district. From 22 July, tram services on the section between Rout Bréck–Pafendall and Philharmonie stations will be completely suspended. 

Passengers will have to alight at the specified stops and walk 450 metres to change to the next train and continue their journey. According to official notices from the transport operator Luxtram, residents should allow an extra seven to ten minutes for their usual journey.

These changes are directly linked to the active phase of integrating new transport hubs. Until 15 August, construction work will be concentrated at the junction of Boulevard Konrad Adenauer and Avenue John F. Kennedy. In the long term, the line under construction will run from John F. Kennedy Avenue along Konrad Adenauer Boulevard and will connect a number of key institutions to the existing network, including the European Investment Bank, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the Jean Monnet Building and the European School. However, until the current phase of reconstruction is completed, through traffic of rolling stock via this junction will remain technically impossible.
