Luxembourg events for 28-30 June

Asteroid Day is a UN-recognised annual event that aims to inspire local and global audiences to learn about space, the role of asteroids in the formation of the solar system, planetary protection and sustainable resource use. According to Markus Payer, Chairman of the Asteroid Foundation, the event brings together a global community of people passionate about space and attracts young talent and companies from Luxembourg's space cluster to showcase their activities and tell their stories.

The programme includes Luxembourgish operetta, the Nouveau Cirque group from West Africa and a performance by British singer-songwriter Birdie. Founded in 1953, the festival is one of the oldest in Luxembourg and continues to develop new formats. This year, the festival's cultural management team is co-producing the operetta An der Schwemm with the Esch Theatre, the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and the INECC Choir.

The Atelier is organising its sixth music and culture festival, The Siren's Call. Among the first confirmed participants are British rock band Bombay Bicycle Club, who have been performing since they were teenagers and have been nominated for a Mercury Music Prize; British-Pakistani artist Natasha Khan, better known as Bat for Lashes; and Canadian indie-pop band Alvvays, who have released their third album 'Blue Rev' after a five-year hiatus.

Due to popular demand, the American alternative rock band will be performing at Luxexpo Open Air instead of at the Rockhal. The concert will start at 19:00. The band, led by the legendary Billy Corgan, will present their hits such as "1979", "Tonight, Tonight" and "Bullet with Butterfly Wings". They will be supported by American rock band Interpol and local indie band TUYS.
