Luxembourg events for 6-8 December

On 6 December, Luxembourg celebrates Saint Nicholas Day (Kleeserchersdag), which is especially important for children, who even get the day off from school. On the eve of the holiday, children leave their slippers at the door and in the morning they find gifts from St Nicholas (Kleeschen) if they have behaved well. Naughty children get a twig (Rutt) from his strict companion, the Hausker. St Nicholas also visits schools before the holiday.

The Luxembourg Red Cross Monthly Bazaar is held on the first Saturday of each month from March to December from 10:00 to 17:00. Visitors can buy a variety of goods, from second-hand clothes and accessories to toys and furniture. Funds raised at the bazaar go to support the work of the Red Cross;

The Christmas Tree Singers will be performing two concerts during the upcoming festive season, on 8 and 14 December. This year's repertoire includes both traditional and new Christmas carols, including a special hymn in Luxembourgish, revived by the ensemble's musical director.

Mario Day, organised by POP Esports Masters (PEM), will be held on December 7, 2024 from 11:00am to 7:00pm at the Polyvalente Gaston Stein Centre in Junglinster. The event is free and is for gamers, families and video game enthusiasts of all ages. POP Esports Masters will return in early 2025 with annual cyber sports championships including League of Legends, Valorant and Rocket League competitions, with a total prize fund of €20,000.
