Luxembourg's weekend program for May 5-7

A nice warm weekend in the Grand Duchy is a great occasion to get out of the house and attend some interesting events. Our traditional selection of concerts, exhibitions and events will bring you the best leisure options for May 5, 6 and 7.

Art of meditation

The Luxembourg Museum of Modern Art is organizing an unusual tour this Saturday. Two meditation guides will take visitors to the gallery on a journey through the halls, where everyone can contemplate art and immerse themselves in the paintings as well as in themselves. This relaxed tour will take place in the morning to start this weekend in the right frame of mind.

The meditation tour is available from age 16 and no prior meditation experience or equipment is required. However, pre-registration in advance will be necessary. The cost is 10 euros per person, and there are special conditions for Kulturpass holders and students.

Address: Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean

Sparks

Experience an immersive musical show this Friday: the amazing sounds of the handpan, gong, English horn, xaphone and memorable vocals will take you on a journey through the universe. Four musicians will create an atmosphere between reality and dream.

In order to attend the concert, you need to register and buy tickets — the cost per ticket is 15 euros.

Address: Subtile Showroom-Gallery, 21A Avenue Gaston Diderich, L-1420 LUXEMBOURG

Space Festival

Would you like to learn more about space and meet Luxembourg's space community? If so, then this two-day festival at Neimënster is just the thing for you. From Friday to Saturday, there will be stands, installations and various workshops and lectures about the unexplored part of our world in the art space.

Admission to the festival on the first day is 10 euros, but on Saturday everyone can visit the event for free. Great for children and their parents.

Address: Abtei Neimënster, 28 rue Münster, L-2160 LUXEMBOURG

Walk with birds

On this Saturday, Professor Axel Hockirch of the National Museum of Natural History invites residents and visitors to Luxembourg for a morning bird trip along the Alzette River. He will explain how to recognize birds by their songs on an hour-long guided excursion. Those most curious are advised to take binoculars to get a good look at the valley's inhabitants.

Of course, you'll need to wake up early to hear the morning warbles! The meeting will take place at 6 a.m. in the garden of Canope. But don't worry, you'll be treated to coffee and herbal tea right in the garden. This event is free!

Address: Canopy Garden, 4 rue Vauban, L-2663 LUXEMBOURG
