What to do at the Schueberfouer: when are the lowest prices and where can you meet a beauty queen

The Schueberfouer Fair is one of the most important events in Luxembourg. Every year, residents and guests of the Grand Duchy gather at this vibrant event to ride thrilling rides, taste unusual delicacies or buy a memorable gift. This year, the Schueberfouer will feature 7 new roller coasters, 18 rides for adults and 21 for children, 44 food stands and much more.

There will be 211 companies participating in Schueberfouer, 37% of them from Luxembourg. There will also be guests from France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria. The fair is divided into several zones: rides (on and off the land, children's rides, trains), restaurants and food kiosks, games, shooting galleries, and areas with street vendors.

Schueberfouer in Luxembourg will take place from August 23 to September 11, from 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. The show will be held at the Champ du Glacis.

  1. Opening, August 23

    Mayor Lydie Polfer will cut the ribbon at 5:00 p.m. Afterwards, you can take a tour of the exhibition and enjoy a traditional ham dish at the Kugener Restaurant.

  2. Mayor's Day, August 29

    Next to Brasserie Schuman, near the Grand Theater, representatives from different cities will visit restaurants and catering establishments in the evening, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

  3. Family Day, August 30

    Schueberfouer will have reduced prices on rides, games and other entertainment that day.

  4. Queens Day, August 31

    Beauty queens, wine queens, beer queens and others can be found at the entrance of the exhibition to give a guided tour.

  5. Shopping Days, September 3 and 4

    On the first Sunday in September, Luxembourg's stores will be open to all visitors. And the next day, the famous Braderie Street market will open, where you can find the most unusual goods at a great price.

  6. Lämmy prize drawing, September 7

    Schueberfouer has its own mascot, Lämmy, an unusual furry animal. He can be found in many different places and will be handing out tickets for a competition to win a trip to an amusement park. Prize draw at the entrance to E1. You can have your picture taken with Lämmy and buy his souvenir at the gift shop. All profits go to charity.

  7. Performances and laying of flowers, September 8

    On this day, the Schueberfouer will host live performances by fairground workers. You can see them in the Glacis Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Afterward, you can honor the memory of the fair's founder, Johann the Blind, by laying flowers at his monument.

  8. Last Day, September 11

    On the last day, entrance to rides, game centers, shooting galleries, and other events will be half-price. And Schueberfouer will close with a stunning fireworks show, which will start at 10:00 p.m.
