World's tallest moving observation tower to be built in Luxembourg
The tower will be one of the main attractions of the 2022 Christmas Market.
City Skyliner, a moving observation tower, will be erected on Republic Square. Installation will begin on November 18 and will last until the end of the year. The height of the tower is 81 meters, but the comfortable observation deck for visitors stops at around 72 meters.
This is 17 meters higher than the 55-meter Ferris wheel, which will be constructed on the Armory Square this winter. In clear weather, passengers will have a 360° panoramic view of a 29 kilometers radius, as the round cabin rotates during the ascent, as well as at its highest ascension point.
Boarding the City Skyliner will cost 8 euros. The ascent will take 7 minutes. The cabin can accommodate 60 visitors. Before lifting, you can buy drinks at the SkyBar.
That’s not the first time the tower is installed in Luxembourg. In 2017, the City Skyliner was also constructed on the Constitution Square. In addition, this mobile panoramic tower has also visited Dresden, Stockholm, Vienna, Brussels, Hannover, Kiel, as well as the Christmas market in Bonn.
