Europe to put limits on gas prices

This week EU energy ministers have agreed to limit the maximum gas price. This difficult decision was reached only after several weeks of negotiations. It is noteworthy that Germany, which was skeptical of such measures, eventually sided with other EU states.

The restriction will come into effect when the price rises to 180 euros per megawatt/hour. The regulation will begin to apply from February 15, but it will not apply to over-the-counter transactions.

The danger of this measure, according to Germany, is a threat to the attractiveness of the market. With such a pricing policy, it will be difficult to attract suppliers.
