Europeans are starting to resell Christmas gifts
The holidays are over, and many Europeans with a bit of entrepreneur spirit have started posting sale ads for some of the gifts they've got this year online. The French site Rakuten France counted 8% more ads of this nature than last year.
Some experts conclude that gift reselling is slowly ceasing to be taboo. These days it is much more important for people to acquire some spare money for economic security than own something they don’t particularly need or even like.
It's especially natural against the backdrop of rising inflation in the eurozone. However, entrepreneur spirit still gives way to decency — most ads include pretty generous discounts. You can get a 15% discount on a new item or up to 70% discount on things both used and rare.
