On Friday, 6 June 2025, from 10:15 to 11:00 CET, the European Union's statistical service Eurostat will hold an open webinar to analyse the current state of play on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event is timed to coincide with the release of the annual monitoring report, which will be published two days before the event on 4 June.
The document summarises the year's results and assesses how the European Union is on track to meet the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set out in the UN's 2030 Agenda. These goals concern the elimination of all forms of poverty, the fight against inequality, environmental protection and climate stabilisation. The SDGs are not just good intentions, but concrete quantitative benchmarks against which the political will and effectiveness of EU countries are measured.
The webinar will be streamed live on a dedicated Eurostat page, as well as on the official Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. It is open to everyone - no pre-registration is required. As part of the broadcast, participants will be able to ask questions via the Slido platform.
Eurostat emphasises the importance of public dialogue around sustainable development and encourages the participation of both experts and all those interested in the topic. Given the growing role of sustainable policies in the face of climate and geopolitical challenges, this event is of interest not only to experts but also to a wide audience keen to understand where Europe is heading.
