Lufthansa pilot strikes and flight cancellations will continue
Today, September 6, an aviation labor union has confirmed that Lufthansa workers will continue to strike. The airline still cannot reach an agreement on salaries with its employees. Last week, 800 flights were canceled due to the strike. Its continuation will undoubtedly entail new cancellations.
The pilots are demanding a 5.5% pay increase and automatic inflation compensation. About 5,000 employees who provide passenger and cargo air transportation for Lufthansa are planning to strike. Passenger aircraft pilots will stop working on September 7 and 8, their colleagues in cargo transportation will continue to strike through Friday, September 9.
